The beginning:
Born 15 April 1981 in Albuquerque, NM
Background:
Various private schools through 3rd grade. Homeschooled through High School. Graduated when I was 14 years old. Attended Albuquerque T-VI when I was 15. Received my Associates degree in Electronic Engineering Technology at 16. Graduated #1 in my class, was also the youngest person in the history of the school to receive a degree. After graduation, worked for Gateway for 2 years before deciding to go back to school for my B.S. Completed my B.S. in Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology on 11 May 2002 at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. Stuck around for my Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering (MSIE), which I completed on 10 May 2003. Moved to St. Louis, MO late August 2003 to work for Boeing’s Integrated Defense Systems.
Current status:
Electronics Systems Engineer at Boeing. Current assignment: Avionics Integration on the EA-18G, an Airborne Electronic Attack derivative of the F/A-18F Super Hornet. Currently supporting EA-18G flight test at NAS Patuxent River, MD.
Family:
Married my best friend on 27 November 2004. We rescued two racing greyhounds in 2005. Photos are available of Macy and Poppy.
Hobbies:
Chinese Kempo Karate, Volleyball (sand and hard court), Racquetball, Mountain Biking, Reading, Scuba diving, Music, Technology, Rollerblading, Computers.
Scuba Diving? And you’re from New Mexico?
I’ve been asked that in every job interview I’ve had. Yes, there is diving in New Mexico. The Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, NM is considered the “dive Mecca of the Southwest.” On top of my Divemaster and Assistant Instructor certifications, I hold over 10 specialty certifications including Altitude Diving, Deep Diving, Underwater Navigation, Rescue Diving and Nitrox and my Master Diver rating.
As of April 2007, I’ve logged over 55 hours underwater and 103 dives - not only in New Mexico, but also in Oregon, Missouri, Hawaii (Maui and Kauai), the Channel Islands (Santa Catalina and San Clemente), North Carolina, Aruba and the Cayman Islands (Grand Cayman).
