Monica Mugged Me
Last night, as soon as we got home from work, I went to the kitchen to let the dogs out. We have a baby gate that keeps them in the kitchen while we’re about. So I’m opening the gate when Mica comes up behind me and tries to take my wallet. I spun around really fast to stop her, and promptly collapsed when my elbow found the stair rail. I hit it hard enough to make my hand go numb. Today, it’s swollen and very sore to move, despite the mass quantities of Advil I’ve taken. I guess karate is out tonight.
My parents called last night to say they were coming into town 3-10 August. That will be very cool. Mom has a long list of restaurants where she wants to eat at and stores where she wants to shop.
Mica and I have been talking about putting a pool in next year. If we get a decent tax refund next year, I think we will.
We’ve been trying to decide what our vacation plans are going to be for this year. I believe we’re going to be heading out to New Mexico for some time in Albuquerque during the Balloon Fiesta. I think Monica will have a blast there. While we’re at it, I’d like to see if we can arrange a scuba trip for us out to Blue Hole in Santa Rosa.
A few months ago, I heard a lot about the death of comedian Mitch Hedberg. One of my coworkers brought in one of his CDs and I’ve been hooked. That is some awesome comedy.
We missed the concert and airshow Monday. Monica wasn’t feeling well and the weather turned nasty. We did get a formation of F-15s flyby about 100′ over our house on the way to the airshow. Instead, we went to see Batman Begins. I loved it, Monica hated it. We also went to the O’Fallon Blake Shelton concert on Sunday. It was too, too hot out, but the concert was ok. We only stayed for about 30 minutes before we gave up on the heat.
Oh well, almost time to go home. It’s been a fairly productive day.
